The service is available to all MidCoast Council residents who currently receive a domestic waste and recycling collection service.
Make time before the clean up in your area to familiarise yourself with what items will be accepted (and what won’t), and how it should be presented for collection. You can find this information in the sections below.
The collection will again cover two types of waste:
- Scrap metal like old pushbikes, empty paint tins (lids removed), and whitegoods (doors removed) presented in one pile. All scrap metal collected will be recycled.
- A separate pile is for general bulky waste like broken furniture, small appliances and bric-a-brac, and eWaste which includes items like computers, TVs, stereos, and mobile phones. Everything you place out for collection in your general waste pile will be sent to landfill, so if an item can be re-used by someone else, try finding it a new home instead.
