Disposal Fees 2016-2017
Due to the Bulahdelah Landfill reaching full capacity, the Council has built a new $1.6M waste transfer station for residents to dispose of their excess waste. Unlike the Landfill where waste was buried, the transfer station is a drop-off centre where all waste is separated.
Reusable and recyclable items are separated and only residual (non recyclable) waste is compacted and sent to the Tuncurry Waste Management Centre for landfilling. NB Trucks with general (non recyclable) or unsorted waste will not be accepted and will need to use another Landfill.
As it is becoming costly to dispose of waste, Council aims to maximise recycling in order to reduce costs to residents. Please note that sorted loads are substantially cheaper than unsorted loads due to the levy and landfilling costs.
You will no longer be able to dispose of waste at the Bulahdelah Landfill & Recycling Centre. You will need to take your waste items to the new Bulahdelah Waste Transfer Station which is located behind the old Landfill.
Please contact Councils Waste Management team on 6591 7222 for any further inquiries.
Driveway attendants are bound by Council to charge the appropriate fee based on your waste type and vehicle description. All loads are treated as full loads in accordance with state & federal regulations.
Disposal Fees cannot be altered or varied in any way. Please refer to Councils waste disposal category definitions.
