Red Bin for General Waste

All residents in the Midcoast Waste Services area receive a weekly garbage collection service.

Garbage is collected in the 140 Litre Red lidded Bin (240 Litre in the Gloucester area).

Residents living in multi-unit dwellings (MUDs) may be serviced by bulk garbage bins.

 

What goes in your General Waste Bin?

Only general household waste should be placed in your General Waste Bin. This includes:

Conditions of your General Waste Service

  • All bins need to be removed from the kerb within 48 hours of being emptied.
  • Only general household waste should be placed in your general waste bin.
  • If your bin is damaged please contact Midcoast Waste on 1300 290 763 to arrange repairs.

 

The New South Wales State Government Waste Levy

The NSW government currently has a waste and environmental levy in place that imposes a fee for each tonne of waste going into landfill. This levy increases $10 plus the CPI each year until 2016.

The current fee is $78.20 per tonne.
